1. To attain social goals by increasing the efficiency.

1. Division of work: it means that all the technical and managerial activities should be divided and entrusted to different experts. Then only specialization is possible.
2. Authoirty and responsibility: authority means the right to give the orders. Responsibility refers to the obligation to perform their work in the desired manner. These two are interrelated.
3. Discipline: discipline refers to following the rules and the regulation strictly. Good supervisors at all levels clean and fair agreements, judicious application of penalties are important for maintain discipline.
4. Unity of command: according to this principle each employee must receive orders from and be responsible only one to one superior.
5. Unity of direction: according to the principle, there should be only one plan of each action for each category of work and is to be executed under the overall supervision and control of a single authority.
6. Subordination of individual interest to the general inertest: this principle refers to the elimination of the personal element from the work of the organization.
